Yes – The Nissin i40 can do HSS ‘High-Speed-Sync’ on the Fuji XT-1, you just need to know how to active it;
All settings are in M – flash and camera – no TTL rubbish here, so if you don’t like shooting in manual, well that’s just tough.
- Turn the flash to manual
- Press and hold the test button for 3 seconds (power LED).
- After 3 seconds the LED next to the manual control will start to flash to indicate you are in ‘High-Speed-Sync’ baby!
Thats it – happy shooting!
So why the i40? Size!
It is perfectly balanced on the XT-1, any other flash such as my Yongnuo or Nikon flashes looks and feels top heavy. Not only can it do High-Sync but it has a zoom and LED video light function … and only weighs 203g. Powered by 4x AA batteries, so it also has some kick!
